Mrs. Minnie UrtonMinnie Atkins was born at Bainbridge, Ohio, March 6, 1862, and died Jan. 13, 1952, at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 14 days. She was married to T. H. Urton in Banbridge, Ohio, on Dec. 16, 1885. To this union were born three children - two sons, Fred and Mark, and one daughter, Genevieve, who preceded her in death. Mr. Urton passed away in Larned on Sept. 5, 1937. Mrs. Urton had made her home in Larned (except for a brief time in California) since 1911 until about four years ago when she went to reside at the Rebekah Odd Fellow home at Manhattan, where she died last Sunday. Here she lived in comfort and contentment and in contact with the outside world through her little radio which she always kept near at hand. She was a member of the Larned Methodist church and also of the Rebekah lodge of Lernard. Her many friends have kept her in mind these four years she has been away and everyone speaks highly of her and her good influence in the Larned community. The funeral service was held in Beckwith chapel at Larned on Jan 23, 1952 at 2 p.m., Rev. W. W. Owen of the Methodist church, officiating. THe Rebekah lodge of Larned conducted, at the close, their ritual service. Mrs. Rodney Warner nad Miss Janice Dundas sang two songs and MRs. Walter Fox was accompanist. Burial was in the Larned cemetery. NOTES: in the date of death, the "13" is crossed out and "Jan. 20" is written in the margin. Above "T. H. Urton" is written "Thos.". |
