Hello. My name is Stephen A. Rausch. I became interested in genealogy and tracing my family history a few years ago when, closing my parents estate, I found many boxes of photographs, newspaper clippings, funeral memorial books and other odds and ends which had been saved over the years by my parents and grandparents. Needless to say, I was thrilled as I discovered and studied each and every little treasure which I stumbled upon. And, again needless to say, the more I found, the more curious I became about the people in the pictures and the provenance of each item. Like many beginning genealogists, I stumbled around haphazardly for many months, recording every little bit of information I could find. After a while I was amazed at how all of the bits of information began to fit together. And more surprisingly was the fact that my memory had been jogged and I was recalling facts, names and places that my parents had talked about as I was growing up. During my research I have, luckily, discovered relatives that I did not know I had. What a wonderful thing to have happen! I am especially greatful to my cousin, Walter High Walley, who has been extremely generous in sharing his genealogical research with me. He has been researching the Walley family for several decades and the information he has shared with me is more than I could have ever hoped to find. I am genuinely indebted to him for his kindness and friendship. |
