For five days the river front of Cincinnati will be transformed when the riverboats once again dock at the Public Landing and transport visitors back to the 19th century. Cincinnati is throwing itself a party and invites everyone to attend. Since the inception of the first Tall Stacks Festival in 1988 to help celebrate Cincinnati's Bicentenniel, it has become one of "the nation's largest celebrations of the Steamboating Era". New to TallStacks 2006 is the addition of the Music, Arts and Heritage Festival, highlighting "the music and culture that traveled the river on the steamboats". This year's celebration will feature new attractions including an expanded family activity area, educational learning centers, historical exhibits and a nightly fireworks display. So lace-up your corset, knot your cravat and donn your best "Sunday-go-to-meetin'" clothes. It's time to party and celebrate the history and romance of life on the river. |
